Released-A Poem
What was holding me,
To the emptiness of infertile ground
What was tethering to me,
A tangled concentration of anguish
What was weighing down,
Into a vortex to which my soul would slip away, invisible
What had robbed me,
Of authenticity
Suddenly,
In a space,
Where the Divine was welcomed in,
Where revered words,
And sacred ritual
And the elements of Creation
And the cleansing of fire
And the care of Women,
Lifted me,
Out of the depths
Until the scales fell,
Cracking away from my skin,
Until the pain subsided,
Washed away in eternal rivers
Until I regained,
What had been torn away from who I was,
Beloved
Of
The
Creator
And I could stand,
Once
More.
