Christ is not the power-hungry, selfishly-greed king that ya’ll are used to: A Sermon for Christ the King Sunday
Grace and peace to you,
My sisters,
Brothers
And
Siblings in Christ
If we raise our voices
And sing hymns declaring Christ as Lord,
and we wear this mask of obedience,
Why then,
Are we surprised
When we are called on the carpet
About our resistance of not living out our faith,
Through action
And those seeking solitude and solidarity and rest
Instead, finding people of faith,
rooted in our stubbornness
Hesitating to follow the One
Who we have crowned
Christ Our King,
Refusing to react to injustice,
With a call for restitution
To love mercifully,
Without conditions
From the other
and
And to walk humbly,
